Vivi Poit
👩💻 Tech Lead | Senior Specialist (Principal Software Engineer) 👩💻
Seasoned technical leader building systems and teams that deliver tangible results. 📈
Business-aware engineer who embraces constraints and tradeoffs
to deliver resilient software for the real world. 🚀
Technical Highlights
Known for turning complex, high-risk initiatives into stable, production-grade systems.
Multi-Method MFA Transformation
Architected and led delivery of a multi-factor authentication redesign for a high-scale enterprise identity provider (~2M weekly logins). Transformed a constrained single-method MFA implementation into a multi-method, user-configurable system, introducing flexible authentication flows, extensible domain modeling, and backward-compatible rollout strategies across distributed services.
Enterprise Data Modernization
Transformed a legacy, high-volume MySQL (RDS) data layer operating at billion-row scale by introducing the team’s first data lake integration. Architected and delivered ingestion pipelines that enabled scalable analytics, observability, and downstream data consumption. Collaborated across engineering and data platform teams to establish data contracts and integration patterns, extending impact beyond the immediate system.
Enterprise IdP Microservices Migration
Led a cross-functional engineering effort to re-architect a public-facing enterprise identity provider serving ~2M weekly logins. Drove the transition from a monolithic Rails application on EC2 to domain-driven microservices on EKS, with separate Rails APIs and React frontends. Coordinated across teams to ensure a seamless cutover with zero customer impact across SAML and OIDC integrations.
Embedded Messaging SaaS Platform
Played a key role in architecting and delivering a greenfield SaaS platform for WhatsApp-based customer engagement. Led design decisions across data modeling, backend services, and frontend development. Engineered scalable embeddable JavaScript assets and integrated with external messaging APIs, enabling high-performance adoption across diverse client environments.
International Tour Operations Platform
Led the end-to-end design and evolution of a tourism platform powering operations for 100+ employees across multiple countries. Built a multilingual, multi-currency system supporting ~16K annual customers, balancing technical scalability with real-world operational needs like peak-season load and unreliable connectivity.
Runner Registration & Management System
Built and scaled a high-throughput, public-facing runner registration platform for regional half-marathon events. Designed for burst traffic during peak signup periods. Enabled real-time enrollment, resilient payment processing, and operational control through integrated admin tooling.
Regional Ecotourism Operations Platform with Custom E-commerce
Led the architecture and evolution of a multi-highlight regional ecotourism platform over several years, establishing a scalable foundation for real-time inventory, reservations, and multi-provider integrations across teams. Included payment processing and internal admin tooling. Owned platform infrastructure and DevOps across Heroku and AWS.
